Effects of Light on the Rate of Respiration in the Stem of Pisum Sativum L.

چکیده
Ii(loleacetic acid is inactivated by mushroom tyrosinase or a tyrosinase present in dialyzed extracts of Osmunda leaves, but only when catechol or pyrogallol are also added. Tyrosine and DOPA do not promote IAA inactivation, although these phenols are oxidized by the enzvme. It appears probable that a reaction occurs between IAA and one of the intermediate compounds formed during the oxidation of catechol or pyrogallol. Possible mechanisms for the reaction, as well as its implications for auxin destruction in plant extracts are discussed.

اثر پرایمینگ بذر بر برخی خصوصیات فیزیولوژیکی مؤثر بر جوانهزنی بذر نخودفرنگی (Pisum sativum L.) تحت تنش سرما
In order to evaluate the effect of seed priming on some effective physiological parameters on seed germination of pea (Pisum sativum L.) under chilling stress, a factorial experiment was conducted in completely randomized design with four replications. Treatments were consisted of priming treatments (hydropriming, halopriming, osmopriming and no priming) and temperature (3, 6, 9, 12 and 15 ˚c)....
متن کاملRole of nitrogen content of pea (Pisum sativum L.) on pea aphid (Acyrthosiphon pisum Harris) establishment
The leaf nitrogen content is generally accepted as an indicator of food quality and as a factor affecting host selection by phytophagous insects. The alate pea aphids (Acyrthosiphon pisum Harris, Aphididae) were given a choice among non-nodulated pea plants (Pisum sativum L.) supplied with one of four nitrate-N levels (0, 3, 15 and 30 mM). When whole plants were exposed to aphids for 7 days, th...

The possible involvement of activated oxygen species in the mechanism of damage by NaClstress was studied in leaves of two varieties of pea (Pisum sativum L.) cv. EC 33866 and Puget. Thelevel of lipid peroxidation, enzyme activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD, EC 1.15.1.1), ascorbateperoxidase (APX, EC 1.11.1.11), glutathione reductase (GR, EC 1.6.4.2), dihydroascorbate reductase(DHAR, 1.8.5.1)...

Allelopathic effects of aqueous extract of rhizomes of Cynodon dactylon L. were studied on seed germination and seedling growth of three legume crops (Phaseolus vulgaris L., Pisum sativum L., and Vicia faba L.), three Labiatae species (Thymus vulgaris L., Melissa officinalis L., and Mentha spicata L.), and two species of Poaceae (Avena fatua L., Sorghum halepense L.). Seed germination of all L...
متن کاملEnvironmental and genotypic effects on the respiration associated with symbiotic nitrogen fixation in peas.
Estimated values for the respiration associated with symbiotic nitrogen fixation in Pisum sativum L. were independent of irradiance, temperature, plant age, and CO(2) concentration, despite large variation in the total rates of C(2)H(2) reduction and root + nodule respiration. Similar values were also found in Phaseolus vulgaris L., Vicia faba L. and Glycine max (L.) Merr. Among all combination...
